Ashley Herron Scott learned about the Music Together while working as a nanny in New York City, where she attended graduate school. When she found out that the the program's teacher training workshop was coming to her hometown of Washington, DC, just a few days after she finished her coursework at NYU, she registered right away. She was enthralled with everything about Music Together immediatley- the music, the instruments, the philosophy, and the instant connection that she saw the young children made to the class activities. She started singing and dancing with eleven families in her church basement in the fall of 1996. Soon she was invited to offer Music Together at the nearby McLean Community Center, where she quickly grew to over a hundred families and twelve weekly classes.Now Ashley directs as many as 60 weekly classes in eleven DC area locations, with a staff of nine talented instructors- all who are excited to sing and dance in weekly classes with your family.
